Early life and background
Sontineni Sivaji, commonly credited simply as Sivaji, was born on 30 June 1977 in Narasaraopeta in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. He grew up in his hometown and is Indian by nationality. Physically he is listed at about 1.80 m (5'11") in height, with brown eyes and black hair.

Career
Sivaji began his entertainment career after working as an editor at Gemini TV. That position opened a path into acting when he was offered a role in a television serial, and from there he moved into films and dubbing work in the Telugu industry.

His film debut came in 1997 with Master, in which he played a character named Sivaji. Over the following years he built a steady career in supporting parts in commercially prominent Telugu films. Notable supporting roles include Babu in Kushi (2001), Giri/Veera Manohar Reddy in Indra (2002), Raghu in Jalsa (2008), and Ravi in Kousalya Supraja Rama (2008).

In 2003 Sivaji stepped into leading roles, achieving his first hit as a protagonist with Missamma, where he portrayed Nanda Gopal opposite Bhumika Chawla. He continued to take lead roles in films such as Mr & Mrs Sailaja Krishnamurthy (2004), Sathyabhama (2007), Diary (2009) alongside Shraddha Das, and Seesa (2016).

Alongside acting, Sivaji developed a parallel career as a dubbing artist beginning in 2002. His early dubbing work included providing the Telugu voice for Nithin in Jayam. He later lent his voice for other actors and projects, such as Aryan Rajesh in Sontham, Yasho Sagar in Ullasamga Utsahamga, and the Telugu version of Pizza for actor Vijay Sethupathi. His dubbing work earned him recognition: he received the Nandi Award for Best Male Dubbing Artist in 2003 for the film Dil.

Sivaji has also worked in web and television projects. He appeared in the web series Gangstars in 2018 as C. I. Anjaneyalu and was a contestant on the reality television program Bigg Boss Telugu season 7 in 2023.

Sivaji has been active in politics and public causes. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014 and left the party in 2015. In 2019 his name was linked as a co-conspirator in a TV9 forgery case concerning the purchase of shares; the matter involved TV9 executives and allegations of document irregularities.
