Early life and background

Sneha G. Wagh was born on 4 October 1987 in Kalyan, Maharashtra, where she grew up and completed her schooling at Holy Cross Convent School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Birla College in Kalyan and later undertook a filmmaking course at the London Film Academy. Raised in a family that includes her mother Damayanti Wagh and a sister, Krithika, Sneha experienced the loss of her father, Ganesh Wagh, in 2021.

She developed an early interest in performance: by age 17 she was appearing in Marathi theatre and also worked as a model while in college. Trained in Indian classical dance, Sneha at one point planned to open a dance school before focusing on acting.

Career

Sneha made her television debut in Marathi drama with the series Adhuri Ek Kahani in 2004, playing the role of Shweta. She later broke into Hindi television with the lead role in the series Jyoti (2009), portraying Jyoti Sharma. Over the years she has moved between Marathi and Hindi projects, building a steady career on the small screen rather than transitioning directly to films.

On Hindi television she has been seen in a number of supporting and lead parts, including Ratanjeet “Ratan” Sampooran Singh in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera (2012), Maharani Raj Kaur in Sher-e-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh (2017), Tulsi in Mere Sai (2018), and Maharani Moora in Chandragupta Maurya (2018). In 2016 she appeared in the Hindi music video Puree Patola. She also took part in the celebrity cricket league Box Cricket League in 2014 as a member of the Jaipur Joshiley team.

Television reality formats have been part of her recent profile: she was a contestant on Bigg Boss Marathi 3 in 2021, a season that also included her first husband as a fellow contestant.

Public profile

Sneha’s public image emphasizes steady professional growth and personal resilience. In interviews she has described learning acting through theatre and deliberately pacing her career to gain experience on television before considering film work. She has spoken openly about difficult periods in her personal life and the support she received from family and friends to move forward.

She is a practising devotee of Lord Ganesha and maintains interests outside acting: painting, reading, following K-pop music, and fitness through yoga and surya namaskar. Sneha has shared that she enjoys Indian and Chinese cuisine, street food like pani puri, and favours dishes such as tandoori chicken. She owns a white Audi A4.

Personal life

Sneha’s personal life has included two marriages. She first married in 2006 to Marathi actor Avishkar Darvhekar and the marriage ended in divorce in 2008. She remarried in January 2015 to interior designer Anurag Solanki; that marriage also ended within the year. Publicly she has discussed the emotional impact of those relationships and the process of becoming stronger and more self-reliant.

She prefers to keep her professional work and personal priorities distinct, and has said her choices are guided by a desire for personal happiness rather than external expectations.

Latest updates

In 2018 Sneha received The Noor Award presented by Gemporia and Australian Diamonds. She continues to work primarily in television, with acting credits spanning Marathi and Hindi serials and occasional music video and reality show appearances. Her daily routine includes yoga for fitness, and she remains active in public life through interviews and media projects.
