Early life and background

Sohail Khan was born on 20 December 1969 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a prominent film family, he is the youngest son of screenwriter Salim Khan and Sushila Charak. He grew up in Mumbai and attended St. Stanislaus High School. Sohail’s upbringing placed him in the heart of the Hindi film industry from an early age.

Career

Sohail has worked across multiple roles in Bollywood as an actor, director and producer. He began his film career behind the camera, directing Auzaar in 1997. The following year he produced the successful film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, which reinforced his profile as a filmmaker. He later directed Maine Dil Tujhko Diya and added acting to his resume with a lead role in the 2002 film Maine Dil Tujhko Diya.

Over the years Sohail has alternated between producing, directing and acting. He launched his own production company, Sohail Khan Productions, and has produced numerous live stage shows in India and internationally that featured Indian film stars.
