Early life and background

Soundous Moufakir was born on 17 February 1995 in Morocco. She grew up in her native country and holds Moroccan nationality. Describing herself as culturally connected to India, she adopted the pen name Soundarya for some of her public work. She completed higher education that includes an MBA and identifies with the Islamic faith.

Career

Soundous began her early working life as a financial analyst but left the role during her probation period to pursue modeling full time. She relocated to India to build a career in the fashion and entertainment industries and has worked with commercial brands including Caprese and Softline, and participated in bridal shoots.

Her on-screen career started with a music video: the Hindi song Aja Aja, released on 23 December 2020, marked her first appearance in a music album. She later appeared in the short studio film Uljhe Hue, which premiered on Amazon mini TV on 11 February 2022.

In 2022 Soundous competed as a contestant on MTV Roadies X9 (season 18) in South Africa. That exposure led to further opportunities; in February 2023 she and partner Hamid Barkzi won the Indian dating show MTV Splitsvilla X4. She has said the Roadies experience opened doors to offers spanning television commercials, music projects, and film work.

Outside of film and television, in 2017 Soundous co-founded a travel agency in India called Trips Exotica. Administrative difficulties prevented her from remaining in the country to continue building the business.

Public profile

Soundous maintains an active presence on social media, where she shares dance videos, personal writing, and travel impressions. She has a YouTube channel under her own name and posts frequently to Instagram and Facebook. She is known to write and publish her own poems online and often references places she has visited; she has described Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland as one of the most beautiful places she has seen.

Physical details and personal notes

Soundous is approximately 175 cm (5 feet 9 inches) tall and her listed weight is around 57 kg (126 lbs). Her reported body measurements are 33-26-35. She has brown eyes and black hair. Personal details she has shared publicly include tattoos: a character on the finger of her right hand and a small heart on the inner side of her left shoulder. She is unmarried and keeps a pet puppy.
