Early life and background

Spandan Chaturvedi was born on 25 August 2007 in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra. Her family relocated to Mumbai while she was very young, and she has been raised there. Her father is Sunil Chaturvedi and her mother is Ashwini Mohite. She has a younger sister, Hridaya Chaturvedi, and a cousin sister, Sparsh Khanchandani, who is also an actress. Spandan attended Sacred Heart School in Kalyan, Mumbai, and took an active role in school life — serving as Cultural Secretary for the 2022–2023 year and participating in co-curricular activities. In 2023 she won a gold medal at an IIMUN event.

Career

Spandan’s entry into acting came early. She began accompanying her cousin to sets when she was two years old, which led to roles as a child actor on Indian television. One of her earliest television appearances was as the young Gunjan Singh in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera (2012). She went on to appear in Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki (2013) and in Disney Channel India’s The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir. She also played the young Madhubala in Colors TV’s Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.

Her breakthrough came with the role of young Chakor in the Colors TV serial Udaan (2014–2016). That performance brought multiple awards and industry recognition, including honours from the Indian Television Academy and the Zee Gold Awards, along with other accolades for Best Child Actress. Spandan has been invited as a guest on several variety and comedy shows, including Comedy Nights with Kapil (2015), Comedy Nights Bachao (2016), and Khatra Khatra Khatra (2019).

Beyond television serials, Spandan has worked in films. She appeared as the young Reshma Pathan in the 2019 Hindi film The Sholay Girl, which streamed on ZEE5. In 2020 she portrayed the young Shakuntala Devi in the biographical film Shakuntala Devi. She was also seen in the 2022 Telugu film RRR as young Sita. In 2016 she competed on Colors TV’s dance reality series Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 9. Spandan has also featured in television commercials for various brands.
