Spandana Vijay Raghavendra was born in Belthangady in the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka and grew up in Bengaluru. Sources list her date of birth as either 28 June 1978 or 28 June 1979. She completed her schooling at Stella Maris School in Gayatri Devi Park Extension, Bengaluru, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru. Spandana worked primarily in the Kannada film industry as an actor and also took on production responsibilities. She made her on-screen debut in the 2016 Kannada film Apoorva, in which she played a lawyer. In 2018 she moved into film production, producing the Kannada film Kismath under the banner associated with her husband’s production company, Spandana Shrushti.

Death

Spandana passed away on 7 August 2023 while on a family trip to Bangkok. She was reported to have gone to sleep on the night of 6 August and did not wake the next morning; doctors later confirmed her death from cardiac arrest. Her body was brought back to India on 8 August 2023, and she was cremated at Harishchandra Ghat in Bengaluru on 9 August 2023.
