Early life and background

Sridevi Menon was born on 17 April 1984 in Chendamangalam, Paravur, in Ernakulam district of Kerala. Raised in the same region she later identifies as her hometown, North Paravur, she completed a bachelor’s degree before embarking on a varied professional path. Sridevi is the only child of her parents; her father worked at Apollo Tyres and her mother ran a catering service alongside her husband.

Career

Sridevi began modeling in 2008 after moving from Chendamangalam to Ernakulam. Family opposition to her choice led her to relocate again, this time to Bengaluru, where she worked in the IT sector and completed a Company Secretary course. Her transition into digital content started with TikTok; after that service was banned in India she shifted focus to Instagram and YouTube.

In December 2018 she launched an Instagram account where she posted short-form videos and reels on topics such as mental health, society, human relationships, feminism, and equality. Her content attracted a substantial Malayali audience and grew her Instagram following into the six figures. She opened a YouTube channel on 20 June 2019 and built a library of hundreds of videos that addressed similar themes and commentary.

Sridevi expanded her public profile in 2023 with a television debut. On 26 March 2023 she entered season 5 of the Malayalam reality series Bigg Boss. Her introduction included a dance performance and she was welcomed on the show by host Mohanlal. During her time on the program she was involved in on‑camera conflicts, including a noted argument with fellow contestant Angeline Mariya.

Public profile

Sridevi is known for candid, issue‑driven content that earned her both strong support and vocal criticism online. Some of her videos provoked controversy and led to negative responses that extended to members of her family. Commentators also noted she could be resistant to critical feedback.

She is a single mother and has a daughter named Ponnu. Outside her online work she is an animal lover who frequently shares photos of her pet cat. Physically, she stands about 160 cm (5 feet 4 inches) tall and is described with black hair and black eyes. She has multiple tattoos in various places, including designs on her collarbone, neck, hands and forearm.

Latest updates

By 2023 Sridevi had transitioned from regional modelling and IT work to being recognized primarily as a social media influencer and reality television participant. Her Instagram and YouTube activity remain central to her public presence, and her time on Bigg Boss season 5 marked her most prominent television exposure to date.
