Early life and background

Srinidhi Ramesh Shetty was born on 21 October 1992 in Mangalore, Karnataka. She grew up in Mangalore and completed her schooling there, attending Sri Narayana Guru English Medium School and St. Aloysius Pre-University College. Srinidhi went on to earn a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics from Jain University, Bangalore.

Her family includes her father, Ramesh Shetty, and two elder sisters, Amrita and Priyanka. Her mother, Kushala Shetty, died when Srinidhi was in the tenth standard. As a student she performed well academically, achieving a high percentage in her tenth-grade examinations and maintaining strong marks through her engineering degree. During childhood and her teenage years she was active in extracurriculars such as dance, volleyball, throwball, swimming and trekking.

Career

After finishing her engineering studies Srinidhi began working as a software engineer in Bengaluru with Accenture. Alongside her job she took on modelling assignments. In 2015 she entered the Miss Diva auditions, though an injury— a fractured toe— forced a period of rest at that time.

Her modelling career advanced rapidly the following year when she won the Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Supranational India title and then went on to claim the Miss Supranational 2016 crown at an event in Krynica-Zdrój, Poland. She became the second Indian to win the Miss Supranational title.

Srinidhi moved into acting and made her film debut in 2018 with K.G.F: Chapter 1, portraying the character Reena Desai. Her performance in the film series continued to raise her profile, and she received the Best Actress (Kannada) award at the 11th South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) in September 2023 for her role in K.G.F: Chapter 2.
