Early life and background
Sujith Unnikrishnan, who works under the stage name Sunny Wayne, was born on 19 August 1983 in Wayanad, Kerala. Raised in that region, he completed his schooling at SKMJ Higher Secondary School in Kalpetta and later attended Calicut University Institute of Engineering and Technology in Malappuram. Before entering films he spent time working in the IT sector, an experience he has described as more of a fallback than a planned career choice.

Career
Sunny Wayne made his acting debut in the Malayalam film Second Show (2012), where his portrayal of the character Kurudi brought him early recognition. After that breakthrough, he built a steady presence in Malayalam cinema with a mix of supporting roles, cameos and lead parts.

Across the 2010s he appeared in a variety of films, including Nee Ko Njaa Cha (2013), Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal (2014), Double Barrel (2015) and Oru Kuttanadan Blog (2018). He has also taken on cameo roles in films such as Thattathin Marayathu (2012), Avarude Raavukal (2017), Chembarathipoo (2017), June (2019) and Black Coffee (2021). In 2020 he featured in the Netflix release Maniyarayile Ashokan, and in 2021 he appeared in the Amazon Prime Video film Sara’s.

Beyond acting, Sunny Wayne has explored voice work and production. In 2017 he dubbed for the character played by Sujith Shanker in Ezra, a process he later said deepened his appreciation for dubbing artists and the craft of voice acting. In 2018 he launched Sunny Wayne Productions, expressing an interest in supporting theatre and discovering acting talent. As a producer he made his debut with Padavettu (2022) and also produced and appeared in the 2022 Malayalam film Appan, released on SonyLIV.
