Surekha Kudachi was born on 17 July in Mumbai and grew up in the same city. Her father served in the Indian Army and is named Kudachi Siddappa; her mother's name is Girija Kudachi. She has at least one sister, Soni Kudachi. Surekha is Indian by nationality and her zodiac sign is Cancer.

Career

Surekha built her career as a performer in the Marathi entertainment world, establishing herself both as an actress and as a lavani dancer. She debuted on the big screen with the 1995 film Zakhmi Kunku and made her television debut with the serial Teesra Dola in 1998. Over the years she has appeared in more than fifty films across Marathi and Hindi cinema.

One of her most recognised film roles was as Durga Deshmukh (also credited as Durga U. Naik) in the 1997 Marathi film Saasuchi Maaya. Her filmography also includes Aai Thor Tujhe Upkar (1999), Polisachi Bayko (2004), Bharat Aala Parat (2008), Khurchi Samrat (2010), Teen Bayka Fajiti Aika (2012) and Premaya Namah (2017). In addition to movies, she has performed in numerous Marathi and Hindi television shows.

Kudachi’s work has been acknowledged with awards; she received the Subalda Award in 2017 and was honoured with the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Sanskruti Kala Darpan Awards in 2019.
