Early life and background
Tanya Hope was born Tanya Puravankara on 11 September 1996 in Bangalore and raised in Bengaluru. She attended Sacred Heart Girls' High School in Bangalore before moving to England for higher studies. She graduated from the University of Westminster with a degree in International Relations. She grew up in a family that includes her father, Ravi Puravankara, and two siblings: a brother, Ashish Puravankara, and a sister, Amanda Puravankara.

After finishing her degree in England, Tanya returned to India and prepared for a career in modelling. She trained at the Tiara Pageant Training Studios in Pune and went on to win the FBB Femina Miss India Kolkata title in 2015.

Career
Tanya transitioned from pageants and modelling to acting, making her Telugu film debut in 2016 with Appatlo Okadundevadu, in which she played the character Nithya. She went on to take roles across South Indian cinema, including in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu productions.
