Early life and background

Tara Gabriella Norris was born on 4 June 1998 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up between several countries before settling in England. She attended Millais Secondary School in Horsham and later studied at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy and Loughborough University. Early on she played club cricket for Horsham Cricket Club and developed into a left‑hand batter and left‑arm medium‑pace bowler.

Career

Norris made her senior debut for Sussex women in 2014. Over the next several years she became a regular presence in the English domestic game, representing Sussex across formats and moving between regional sides. Her domestic teams have included Southern Vipers (initially in 2017 and again from 2020 to 2022), Loughborough Lightning (2018–2019), Southern Brave in The Hundred (2021–present) and, from 2022, North West Thunder.

Across county and regional competitions she has produced notable bowling performances. In the 2018 Women’s County Championship she took 10 wickets at an average near 10.30. In the 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy she played seven matches for Southern Vipers and finished among the tournament’s leading wicket‑takers, including figures of 4/45 in a game against Western Storm.
