Early life and background

Shiva Jyothi, popularly known as Teenmaar Savitri, hails from Nagampetta village in Muppakal Mandal of Nizamabad District, Telangana. She was born on 14 February and brought up in a middle-class family. Her father, Rajamallesh, worked as an RMP doctor, and her mother, Yashodha, was employed in the beedi industry. She attended a local school in Nagampetta until seventh grade and completed her eighth to tenth standards at a school in Ranges Village, Nizamabad.

Savitri initially enrolled in a BSc Nursing program in Hyderabad but left the course to pursue a career in media. She later finished her graduation through an Open University. She follows Hinduism, maintains a vegetarian diet, and lists travelling and reading among her hobbies.

Career

Savitri began her media journey as a newsreader. Early in her career she encountered challenges related to voice, language and accent, and faced rejections from various channels. Her breakthrough came when she auditioned for V6 Channel, where she read news in the Telangana accent. At V6 she started by presenting cinema news and soon became a familiar face to viewers.

Her presence on the channel expanded beyond newsreading: she hosted weekend special voice-overs and later anchored a daily satirical comedy segment called Teenmaar. Her energetic on-screen persona and natural Telangana accent helped her connect with regional audiences and build a distinctive identity.

The Teenmaar show and her style of presentation led viewers to associate her strongly with the program; the nickname Teenmaar Savitri emerged from this recognition. A distinctive jacket she frequently wore on the show became popular with fans and was informally referred to by audiences as a ‘Savitri Jacket’.

In 2019 she resigned from V6 Channel and took part as a contestant on Bigg Boss Telugu 3, bringing her regional television profile to a national reality-TV platform.

Public profile

Physically, Savitri is listed as approximately 165 cm tall (about 5'5") and weighing around 55 kg. Her eye and hair colour are black, and her published figure measurements are approximately 32-28-32. She prefers the actor Chiranjeevi and actress Sridevi, cites the film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990) as a favorite, and names director Rajamouli among her favorites. Paris is noted as a preferred holiday destination and biryani as a favorite food.

Personal life

Savitri is married to Ganguly Mantri. Details about her age beyond the birth date are not specified in available information. She does not smoke or drink alcohol, according to the reported details.

Latest updates

Her move from a regional news channel to the Bigg Boss Telugu 3 house in 2019 marked a noticeable shift in her career path from anchoring to reality television. The Teenmaar show and her V6 tenure remain central to her public identity and to the moniker by which many viewers know her.

Overall, Teenmaar Savitri’s journey is framed by a transition from a small-town upbringing and an early education in nursing to a career in regional television where her voice, accent and personality became defining assets.
