Udhayanidhi Stalin was born on 27 November 1977 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu. He grew up in Chennai and completed his schooling at Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Egmore. He later attended Loyola College, Chennai, where he earned a bachelor's degree in commerce. His upbringing was shaped by a family deeply involved in Tamil politics and cinema: his grandfather M. Karunanidhi was a longtime political leader and scriptwriter, and his father M. K. Stalin pursued both politics and brief acting work. Udhayanidhi is married to filmmaker Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi; they have two children, a son named Inbanithi and a daughter named Tanmaya.

Career

Udhayanidhi entered the Tamil film industry as a producer. He founded the production company Red Giant Movies and launched his producing career in 2008 with the action-comedy Kuruvi. In the years that followed his company backed several prominent projects and worked with leading filmmakers and actors in Kollywood.

He made his acting debut in 2012 with the romantic comedy Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, in which he played the lead role. His performance earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut (South).
