Vandana Sajnani Khattar was born on 24 October 1975 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She grew up in the city where she completed her schooling at Hill Grange High School and later earned a Bachelor of Commerce. Raised in a Hindu family, Vandana has two sisters and a brother and maintains strong ties to her hometown of Mumbai.

Career

Vandana began working in the entertainment industry at the turn of the millennium. Her television debut came with the Zee TV serial Kartavya in 2000, and she went on to appear in other TV projects including Shaheen on Sony TV, Sukanya on B4U and Saathiya on Sahara TV. Her first film role was in Ram Gopal Varma’s Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon (2003), and she later appeared in movies such as Corporate (2006) and Dil Dhadakne Do (2015).

Alongside screen work, Vandana has a long association with theatre. She has acted in Hindi plays directed by Dinesh Thakur, including Aadhe Adhure, Aapas Ki Baat and Bhagam Bhag, and has performed in English-language adaptations like Wait Until Dark and Champagne on the House. In October 2003 she launched her own theatre company, Moksha Creations, taking on producing and directing responsibilities. Through Moksha Creations she has mounted several commercial plays as producer-director, including Please Divorce Me Darling, Love Hua Once More, Caught in the Web and Fourplay. Fourplay featured her acting opposite her husband, and one of her productions received a nomination at the McDowell’s Signature Theatre Festival.
