Vedika Bhandari was born on 22 July 1995 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and grew up in a middle-class family in the same city. She completed her schooling at Villa Theresa High School in Mumbai and went on to study at H. R. College of Commerce and Economics. Seeking formal training in performance, she attended Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares and the New York Film Academy’s Mumbai program, and is a graduate who also completed an acting course.

Bhandari began her performing journey with stage work after finishing her acting training. She joined the Progressive Theatre Group in Mumbai and appeared in several plays aimed at young audiences and adaptations, including productions inspired by fairytales and classic children’s stories.
