Venu Madhav Biography

Venu Madhav was an Indian actor, mimicry artist and comedian who became a familiar face in Telugu cinema through performances in numerous successful films.

Early life and background
Venu Madhav was born on 30 December 1979 in Kodad, in what was then Andhra Pradesh and is now part of Suryapet district, Telangana. He grew up in the Suryapet area and later established his career in the Telugu film industry. He was Hindu by faith and identified with the Capricorn zodiac sign.

Career
Madhav began his entertainment career as a mimicry artist before moving into films. He made his Telugu film debut in 1996 with Sampradayam and appeared in his first Tamil film, Ennavale, in 2000. Over the course of his career he built a reputation as a comic performer and supporting actor, and was featured in a number of commercially successful and popular Telugu films including Master (1997), Tholi Prema (1999), Yuvaraju (2000), Nuvve Nuvve (2002), Dil (2003), Simhadri (2003) and Arya (2004).

His comedic work earned industry recognition. He received the Nandi Award for Best Male Comedian for his role in Lakshmi (2006). He also won two CineMAA Awards in the Best Comedian category for his performances in Dil (2003) and Sye (2004).

In the later stage of his career Madhav’s on-screen appearances became less frequent. His final film release was Dr. Paramanandaiah Students in 2016.

Public profile
Beyond film, Madhav worked as a television presenter and remained known for his mimicry skills and comic timing. He listed travel, listening to music and watching movies among his personal interests. He was a fan of actor Rajinikanth.

In addition to his entertainment work, Madhav became active in politics in his later years. He joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and participated in campaigning for the party during the 2019 state assembly elections.

Personal life and family
Madhav was married and is listed with two spouses in public records: Bhagya Lakshmi and Sree Vani. He had two sons, Madhav Savikar and Madhav Prabhakar. His parents were Prabhakar and Savitri. He was one of several siblings, with two brothers and two sisters.

Illness and death
In late September 2019 Madhav’s health declined due to liver and kidney ailments. He was hospitalised on 24 September 2019 in Secunderabad and was advised to undergo a liver transplant. His condition worsened and he was placed on life support. Venu Madhav died on 25 September 2019 at Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad at the age of 39.
