Early life and background
Victoria Gowri was born on 21 May 1973 and raised in Nagercoil, in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. She attended Little Flower Higher Secondary School, where she held a pupil leadership role. She went on to study law at Government Law College, Madurai, earning her LLB in 1995, and later completed an M.Sc. from Mother Teresa University in Kodaikanal.

Career
After enrolling with the Madras Bar Council (now the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) on 27 September 1995, Victoria Gowri began practising at the Subordinate Judge’s Court in Karur before moving her practice to Kanyakumari District Court. In 1997 she founded VVictory Legal Associates, becoming the first woman lawyer to open an independent office in Kanyakumari district; the firm initially worked with a panel of six advocates and handled civil, family, criminal, and writs and appeals matters.

She expanded her practice to the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court in 2006. In 2019 Gowri entered politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party and was active in party work until September 2020, when she was appointed Assistant Solicitor General of India at the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. Her public roles have also included serving as National General Secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha, according to her stated social profiles.
