Vidhi Chitalia Biography

Vidhi Chitalia is an Indian actor and trained Bharatnatyam dancer from Thane, Mumbai. She has worked in Hindi and Gujarati films and television, and began舞

Early life and background

Vidhi Chitalia hails from Thane in the Mumbai metropolitan area. Born on 29 December, she grew up in a family that supported her early interest in dance. She began formal training in classical dance at the age of six and trained in Bharatnatyam. Dance has remained central to her life: she has described the stage as her first home and credits her training with shaping her physically and emotionally.

Career

Chitalia trained as a dancer and initially aimed to become a choreographer, working with television and film performers as a trainer. Over time she moved into acting, reasoning that performers who could not dance were still finding success and deciding to try the craft herself.

Her on-screen debut came in television, with an appearance in the series Bombae in 2018 where she played Shruti. She then appeared in the web series Leila in 2019 as Sapna, a role that required multiple takes to achieve the desired result during filming. In 2020 she expanded her screen work, appearing in the film Serious Men as Oparna and taking roles in television productions including It Happened in Calcutta (as Pratiksha) and Story 9 Months Ki (as Nitya).

She continued working in both films and television through 2021 and beyond. In 2021 she appeared as Sonali in Wrongleela and as Manali in 420 IPC. A television commercial for the perfume Secret Temptation featured her in 2022.

In 2023 she was part of two films: the Gujarati feature Congratulations, in which she played Dharti alongside Sharman Joshi and Manasi Parekh, and the Hindi film One Friday Night, where she was cast as the second lead opposite Milind Soman and Raveena Tandon, portraying a character written as a decades-younger love interest to Milind Soman's character.

Public profile

Vidhi Chitalia is known for her dancing as much as for her acting. She posts dance videos on social media and shares images from her travels and adventure activities, including paragliding. A visible tattoo is present on her right hand.
