Early life and background
Vikas Manaktala was born on 10 February 1984 in Tilak Nagar, New Delhi. He grew up in a middle-class family and completed his schooling and college education in Delhi. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Delhi College of Arts & Commerce and attended Mira Model College for his earlier studies.

From a young age he wanted to pursue acting. After finishing college he began modeling and attending acting auditions. During this period he won the title of Mr. India, which helped open doors to television work.

Career
Vikas made his television debut in 2006 with the Sony SAB show Left Right Left, where he played the lead role of Amardeep Huda (also referred to as Akash). He remained with that series through 2008 and received recognition for his performance, including a nomination at the Indian Telly Awards.

Following Left Right Left, Manaktala stepped away from television for several years. He returned in 2013 with Sony TV’s Main Naa Bhoolungi, playing Sameer Verma opposite Aishwarya Sakhuja. After that he appeared in a variety of television projects, including episodic and serial work such as Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Ghulam, Jhansi Ki Rani, Lal Ishq, and Namah. His portrayals in Ghulam and as Gangadhar Rao in Jhansi Ki Rani were noted among his more recognized characters.

Beyond serials, Manaktala has also performed in music videos. He won the Best Actor in a Negative Role Award at the Boroplus Awards for his work in Ghulam. In 2022 he entered the reality show Bigg Boss season 16 as a wildcard contestant.
