Vikram Brar Biography

Vikramjeet Brar is an Indian individual widely reported in media as a gangster. Born in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, he has been associated with the Lawrence Bí

Early life and background

Vikramjeet Brar, commonly known as Vikram Brar, was born on 6 September in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. He grew up in that town and later attended Panjab University in Chandigarh, where he was active in campus life and was elected party convener of the student union SOPU during his college days.

Physical details reported about Brar describe him as approximately 172 cm tall (about 5 feet 8 inches) with black eyes and black hair. He is identified as Indian by nationality and follows Sikhism. Public profiles list his zodiac sign as Virgo and note a non-vegetarian diet.

Career

Media and public documents characterize Vikram Brar as a gangster. He is frequently linked with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and is reported to have been close to several figures in that network. Accounts indicate that Brar came into contact with Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi while at Panjab University, a connection that has been highlighted in reports about organized criminal activity associated with that group.

Sources say Brar worked with or for a number of individuals in the region’s criminal landscape. He was reportedly close to Anand Pal Singh prior to Singh’s death in a police encounter on 24 June 2017, and thereafter is said to have worked with Subhash Baral before aligning more closely with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Law-enforcement filings referenced in public reporting list him as a wanted accused in Haryana, and multiple criminal cases—reported as more than a dozen—are registered against him in India.

High-profile incidents and public allegations

Vikram Brar’s name appeared in news coverage following the May 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala and subsequent investigations into related networks. Media coverage and police inquiries during June 2022 connected his name to interrogations of suspects in Pune and to communication between those suspects and Brar. Public reporting has also associated him with a threatening letter sent to actor Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan; Brar has publicly denied involvement in both the Moose Wala murder and the Salman Khan letter and asked authorities to investigate and remove his name where appropriate.

Reports indicate that Brar has longstanding ties to others in the Punjabi criminal milieu. He and gangster Gurlal Brar were acquaintances from college; Gurlal Brar’s killing in October 2020 has been described as part of a broader gang conflict that involved factions linked to Davinder Bambiha and the Lawrence Bishnoi group.

Public profile

Brar has used social media platforms and public statements to respond to allegations. In an Instagram post dated 11 June 2022, he denied involvement in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder and the Salman Khan threat letter and urged police to conduct thorough investigations. His father has spoken publicly as well, stating that Vikram had been outside India for more than two and a half years and saying he had disowned him.

Reportedly, Brar admires Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh and has expressed political views in public posts; during the 2020 farmers’ protests he publicly criticized the central government and described support for the movement.

Legal developments and arrest

Public reporting indicates that Brar was deported from the United Arab Emirates and on 25 July 2023 was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after his return to India.

Personal life

Available public records and reporting list Brar as married; his marriage is reported to have taken place in 2017, though his spouse’s name is not publicly listed in those reports. He is described as having one sister and no brothers. Brar’s father has given interviews to media outlets about his son’s situation and whereabouts in the past.

Latest updates

The most recent public development reported is the July 2023 arrest by the NIA following deportation from the UAE. Other reported details include ongoing legal matters and prior listings as a wanted individual in parts of India.
