Vishal Krishna Reddy was born on 29 August 1977 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Raised in a film-connected family, his father is producer G. K. Reddy and his mother is Janaki Devi. He attended Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai and went on to graduate from Loyola College, Chennai with a degree in Visual Communications.

Career

Vishal first appeared on screen as a child performer in the 1989 Tamil film Jadikketha Moodi, where he was featured as a dancer. After working his way into adult roles, he took a lead part in the 2004 Tamil film Chellamae, playing the character Ragunandan. Over time he broadened his involvement in cinema by launching a production company, Vishal Film Factory.

As a producer he has been associated with several Tamil films. Notable productions credited to his company include Pandiya Naadu (2013), Naan Sigappu Manithan (2014), Poojai (2014) and Aambala (2015). His production work has complemented his acting career and positioned him as a producer-actor in the Tamil film industry.

In October 2015, Vishal was elected General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam, the South Indian Artistes' Association, a role that placed him in a leadership position within the acting community.
