Vivek Mehra was born in Delhi in 1961 and grew up in that city. He attended The Lawrence School, Sanawar for his schooling and went on to study commerce at Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. He completed his professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Career

Mehra’s professional life has been centered on finance, tax and corporate leadership. Early in his career he served as managing partner at P R Mehra & Co. in Delhi from January 1990 until January 1997. He then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a partner in January 1997, where he led the mergers and acquisitions tax practice and later served on the PwC Governing Board as well as India’s Tax Leadership Team.

After leaving PwC in March 2016, Mehra took on a range of non-executive and independent director roles. His appointments have included positions at firms such as Embassy Office Parks Management Services Private Limited, DLF Limited, HT Media Ltd, Hero Future Energies Pvt.
