Early life and background

Archana Ravichandran, popularly known as VJ Archana, was born on 12 November 1997 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Raised in a middle-class Tamil family, she completed her schooling at Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madipakkam, and went on to graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Agni College of Technology in Thalambur. She trained in Carnatic music for over a decade and learned to dance on her own. From a young age she enjoyed performing and often hosted and recorded stage events during her school years.

Archana began her on-screen career as an anchor for Aditya TV, part of the SUN Network, and later worked as an anchor with Vijay Television. Her television acting breakthrough came in 2020 when she was cast as Archana in the Tamil serial Raja Rani 2, a role that increased her public recognition.
