Early life and background

Yash Dandge was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, where he attended The Greater Mumbai Education Society. He grew up in the neighbourhood he still calls home, which inspired his stage name 99side. His interest in hip hop traces back to a first encounter with a tattoo of an artist he admired; that moment helped steer him toward writing and performing rap.

Physical appearance

Career

Yash performs under the moniker 99side and is a member of the Mumbai-based rap crew Allegionz, which operates out of Vile Parle East. He began participating in battle rap events in 2022 and quickly made a mark on the local scene. At his first battle event he won a cash prize of Rs. 15,000, and in November 2023 he won a rap battle competition held at BITS Pilani.

In 2024 Dandge expanded his profile by appearing as a contestant on the fourth season of the Indian rap and hip-hop reality show MTV Hustle. That same year he released several Hindi rap tracks, including Kalaasur, Ghutan, and Chowk Pe, and appeared in at least one music video.

Public profile

Yash maintains an active presence on social media, where he shares music-related content and personal photos. He often posts pictures with his pet dog, reflecting his affection for animals.
