Naveen Kumar Gowda was born on 8 January 1986 in Bhuvanahalli, Hassan, Karnataka. Raised in the state of Karnataka, he completed his schooling at Mahajana High School in Mysore. After finishing his formal studies he became involved with theatre, joining the Benaka drama troupe founded by dramatist B. V. Karanth, an early formative step toward a career in performance.

Career
Yash began his screen career in television, appearing in the Kannada serial Uttarayana in 2004. He made his film debut in 2007 with Jambada Hudugi and steadily built a reputation in Kannada cinema over the following years.

A breakthrough came with the 2014 film Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, in which he portrayed the character Ramachari. That role brought widespread recognition and led to awards for his work. Alongside acting, Yash has contributed as a playback singer, recording songs for his films such as "Annthamma" from Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari and "Annange Love Aagide" from Masterpiece (2015).
