Yash Pandit was born on 20 September 1981 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family with strong musical roots, he is the grandson of singer Pratap Narayan. His father, Vishwaraj Pandit, is a tabla player, and his mother is Swarna Pandit. He has two sisters who work in music: Shraddha Pandit and Shweta Pandit.
