Welbeck’s Panenka hits the bar!
It’s audacious from Danny Welbeck but, ultimately, rubbish. His Panenka spot-kick comes back off the bar and West Ham are furious! Mateus Fernandes was especially displeased with the cheek of it. He’s been booked for confronting Welbeck. Todibo and Areola have also had a few words.

Garnacho makes the right decision this time, laying the ball back for Enzo Fernández, who drops his shoulder to evade Alex Scott and lashes into the top corner. It’s an emphatic finish. Chelsea have turned it around!

“I can’t fathom why Semenyo is going to City,” writes Dean Kinsella. “My bet is he will become yet another attacking forward who will be encouraged to stay out wide and should he happen to beat his full back to turn around and pass the ball back to his midfield. All the dynamic flair having been sucked out of him, soon reduced to playing bit parts from the bench.”
Well, I’m not sure Pep Guardiola has coached the dynamic flair out of Jérémy Doku or Rayan Cherki yet.

Sean Dyche, up against his old team tonight, is speaking to TV pitchside ahead of kick-off. He says that David Moyes is doing a good job at Everton but reiterates that he doesn’t care about that tonight because he’s Nottingham Forest manager now and wants a result.
Dyche is still wearing his shorts. Having been at a motorway service station not far from Nottingham earlier today, I can confirm that this is some achievement. You can see his breath.

Greetings. The festive fixtures keep on coming in the Premier League, with six more games on the agenda tonight. We’ll be focusing on five of those, headlined by Chelsea v Bournemouth and Manchester United v Wolves. Newcastle are also in action at Burnley, while struggling West Ham host Brighton. Then there’s a Sean Dyche derby at the City Ground as Nottingham Forest face Everton.
