Google announced two new additions to Google Photos for all Android users, and they’ve already begun rolling out.
Google posted on Twitter/X regarding its “AI Enhance” tool, showing off a video of the Photos tool in action. The post notes that Google Photos is adding the AI Enhance button for all Android users worldwide. It’s rolling out now, so users should begin seeing it soon if they haven’t already.
Did you see the new button in your photo editor? AI Enhance is now available to Android users worldwide! ✨🌎

The button gives users an option to apply a magic fix to their photos, using AI, of course. It’s a sort of do-it-all button and gives users the option to skip over extensive editing with a quick fix that focuses on adjusting lighting and contrast levels.
For video, Google also updated its community page with an announcement about video in the Google Photos app. The Photos team says that video playback speed controls are rolling out now for the app on Android. In each video, the three-dot menu will present “playback speed” among the other tools. Users can choose speeds from 0.25x to 2x.
Google notes this has been a long-reuqested feature from users. This rollout might not be global, just yet, and it looks to be in earlier stages than the AI Enhance button. Still, it should begin appearing on Android devices shortly.
