On the heels of what has (and still is!) been a pretty great month of May, which saw an exploding blood-bag-filled series finale of The Boys, a great new season of Citadel, John Krasinski returned to the role of Jack Ryan, and (still to come this week) Nicolas Cage is Spider Noir, Prime Video just released its lineup of June TV shows and movies to kick off the summer!
You’ll find the full list of new titles at the bottom of this post, which includes four TV series and 87 movies—including a boatload of critical and box office hits like Bull Durham, Mad Max, and two (count ’em), two Legally Blonde movies. Additionally, Prime Video is celebrating Pride Month with a curated selection of Originals that the streamer says “is illuminating the spectrum of LGBTQ+ experiences with stories that truly shine—not just showcasing diversity, but celebrating it.” Some of those titles include the animated musical comedy Hazbin Hotel, the coming-of-age film My Old Ass starring Aubrey Plaza, and the final season of cult-classic series Good Omens. The Pride Month collection, which includes 11 more titles, can be found starting June 1.
In addition to all the new licensed movies arriving in June, of course, there’s all kinds of MLB, WNBA, National Women’s Soccer League, and NASCAR sports action as well. As for the highlights of new shows for the month, it’s a bit sparse as we head into the summer, but let’s get into those now.
Clarkson’s Farm, Season 5 (June 3)
Jeremy Clarkson returns for more rural punishment
He was motor racing’s biggest mouthpiece, but the Top Gear-host-turned farmer has since traded sports cars for tractors in his critically-acclaimed reality series Clarkson’s Farms, now heading into its fifth season on Prime video on June 3rd. The hilarious and wildly entertaining series follows Clarkson as he bumbles, bickers, and occasionally succeeds at running his Diddly Squat Farm in rural England.
Season four ended with Jeremy opening The Farmer’s Dog pub, and the usual mess of red tape and headaches that comes with anything Jeremy seems to touch (much to our amusement). Season five kicks off on a serious note, however, with a major health scare for Jeremy, who’s been told to take it easy by the doctors. Fans of the show can expect more calamity as a new flock of “Easy Care” sheep arrive, the UK government’s budget takes effect, and Jeremy starts toying with robot tractors and other tech on the farm.
The eight-part series will premiere its first four episodes globally on June 3rd, with episodes 5-6 on June 10th, and 7-8 on June 17th.
The Legend of Vox Machina, Season 4 (June 3)
Critical Role’s epic animated series is back
The Legend of Vox Machina is easily one of my favorite adult animation series of all time, and I’m counting down the days to June 3rd to see how the story continues. The acclaimed Critical Role series, based on the popular Dungeons & Dragons web series, follows an eclectic band of misfit heroes—mercenaries, rogues, and assorted weirdos. Season three ended with the Vox Machina team defeating the ancient dragons of the Chroma Conclave to save the realm of Exandria.
Season four finds our heroes scattered throughout the land for some self-care, family time, and soul searching. But, as you’d expect, there’s no rest for the weary, and soon a slumbering evil awakens that requires the band get back together for their darkest fight yet.
The new season begins on June 3rd with a three-episode weekly rollout afterwards.
