Oppo is reportedly preparing a smaller sibling to its upcoming flagship smartwatch, with an Oppo Watch X3 Mini rumored to debut as early as April.
While the standard Watch X3 is set for its official Chinese unveiling on March 17, a Weibo leaker suggests a secondary launch window for a more compact model that mirrors the brand’s ‘Mini’ strategy seen in previous generations.
Although official specs remain under wraps, the Watch X3 Mini is expected to follow the blueprint established by last year’s X2 Mini. That device carved out a unique niche by offering a full-featured smartwatch experience in a downsized chassis, something we previously criticized sister brand OnePlus for failing to deliver (until it did so via the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm).
Central to this approach again, we would expect, will be the company’s dual-chip architecture, which should pair a Snapdragon W5 processor with a secondary RTOS efficiency chip. This setup allows the watch to run high-intensity tasks (even on more power-hungry platforms like Wear OS) while offloading background tracking to a low-power system, keeping battery life competitive.
A waiting game—but not for much longer
Given we know very little about the regular Watch X3, we know even less about a Watch X3 Mini at this early stage. In fact, this is the first significant and semi-reliable reference we’ve actually seen to such a device.
Still, it feels fairly nailed-on that it will replicate the premium unibody titanium case the brand has teased for the larger X3. And we would also expect the watch to retain all of the generation’s key health metrics, swim-rated water resistance, and smart features.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for any more rumors relating to this one. And we will, of course, have a better idea of what to expect after the regular version is officially revealed next week.
