According to a new report, Samsung is set to bring its first pair of Android XR-powered glasses, “Galaxy Glasses,” and a new Galaxy Watch 9 to its July 22 event that will also launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and other foldables.
Seoul Economic Daily reports that Samsung will launch its first pair of AI glasses, thought to be called “Galaxy Glasses,” at a July 22 event in London. That date had already been reported for Samsung’s next Unpacked event.
The report also brings out Samsung’s partnership with eyewear brand Gentle Monster and mentions Android XR as the platform powering these glasses despite the fact that this first release is more like Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses – just a speaker, microphones, and camera with no display.
The glasses will apparently be released for sale in “the third quarter,” which starts in July, well ahead of Samsung’s event.
The event would also consist of Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, as well as Samsung’s wider book-style foldable, and Galaxy Watch 9 series smartwatches. All-in-all, a pretty big event in terms of sheer number of products.
