Samsung began rolling out One UI 8 for its Galaxy Watch 4 series back in November last year. However, the LTE variant didn’t get the update for a long time. This delay frustrated the users and made them question the update policy of the brand. Now, the tech giant has finally expanded the rollout of One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6 to include the Galaxy Watch 4 LTE and Classic LTE models.
Galaxy Watch 4 LTE variants finally get One UI 8 Watch update
As already said, Samsung had earlier limited the software to non-cellular versions of the Galaxy Watch 4 lineup, leaving owners of LTE models without access to the newest version. This week, the company has confirmed that it has begun the rollout of One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 4 LTE and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE. India is the first market to receive the update. Other regions across the world are expected to get the update in the coming weeks.
The latest update weighs around 1.8GB in size and carries the firmware version R895FXXU1JYL6. Apart from the major Wear OS 6-based changes, the update adds a January 2026 security patch. It fixes about 55 known vulnerabilities in order to strengthen the security of the device.
Indian variants have started receiving the update; other regions will follow soon
Users can install the update through the Galaxy Wearable app on an Android phone by navigating to Watch settings and selecting software update. The One UI 8 Watch brings several new features and optimizations, such as refined health tracking tools, smoother animations, and better battery optimization. It makes the interface feel more personal and modern while maintaining the familiar layout that Galaxy Watch owners appreciate. Last but not least, the release marks the last major update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
