We explain why this might be the best value pick for Android users
If you’re looking for the best cheap Android smartwatch right now, Amazon has dropped an unbeatable deal on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 (40mm).
You can currently grab the 2024 flagship for just $149.99, a massive 40% saving on its usual $249.99 price tag.
This is a stunning price for a current-generation device from a major brand like Samsung, significantly undercutting the competition and even beating many refurbished options.
We’ve seen some early discounts on the brand’s newer Galaxy Watch 8 series in the last few weeks. Still, it’s relatively rare to see such a steep discount on a product released just over a year ago. And, in fact, this is a return to the Watch 7’s all-time low (which it briefly hit last month).
And though it’s not as big a price cut on the 44mm edition, and this isn’t the cellular-ready version of the device, this remains a standout deal as we head into the holiday sales period.

Why the Galaxy Watch 7 is a steal at $150
The generation represented a significant leap forward for Samsung’s watch line when it launched last summer. As we highlighted in our Galaxy Watch 7 review, the big upgrade was the introduction of dual-frequency GPS, which finally brought its outdoor tracking accuracy in line with more expensive sports watches. It also features an upgraded BioActive sensor for more reliable heart rate monitoring during workouts.
Software-wise, it’s top-tier. Running the latest Wear OS 6 (with Samsung’s One UI Watch on top), it offers seamless access to Google apps like Maps, Wallet, and the new Gemini assistant. It’s also packed with health features, including the new Energy Score, body composition analysis, and FDA-authorized sleep apnea detection. There’s simply no way to get all that in a cheaper package.
The only real compromise at this size is battery life—expect around a day of heavy use from the 40mm model. But for $149.99, getting a premium smartwatch with this level of performance, a beautiful Super AMOLED display, and long-term software support is an absolute no-brainer.
