When you think of Paramount+, the first name that comes to mind is Taylor Sheridan. The Yellowstone architect is behind some of the most popular shows for the streamer. Considering he writes, directs, and produces the majority of the episodes, Sheridan is Paramount’s most prolific creator.
Sheridan’s reign at Paramount will soon come to an end, after signing a lucrative film and television deal with NBCUniversal. Sheridan’s film deal begins in 2026, while his television agreement starts January 1, 2029. It’s a seismic move in the television industry, as NBC looks to boost Peacock with Sheridan’s creations. Yellowstone, Sheridan’s most popular creation, is currently streaming on Peacock. However, Sheridan’s other TV shows, including Landman and 1923, will stay on Paramount+. Here are the shows that will remain on Paramount+ when Sheridan leaves.

Mayor of Kingstown
In the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan, Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) is known as the mayor. This mayor is not an elected official but a mediator who keeps the peace between the gangs, cops, and the prisoners. As the Paramount+ synopsis reads, “The business of incarceration is the only thriving industry.”
Mayor of Kingstown clearly draws inspiration from several noteworthy crime shows, including HBO shows like The Wire, Oz, and Justified. Though not as effective as those legendary programs, Mayor of Kingstown provides enough intrigue and story to satisfy your crime TV fixes. The show has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

Landman
Billy Bob Thornton might be from Arkansas, but he was born to play a Texan. After proving he could coach football in Friday Night Lights, Thornton heads to the oil fields in Landman. Inspired by the Boomtown podcast, Landman depicts the oil boom in West Texas as the billionaire-backed companies fight for every drop of petroleum.
Thornton plays Tommy Norris, the titular landman employed by the oil companies to fix any problems out in the fields. Naturally, things go wrong, and Tommy frequently gets his hands dirty. It’s a Western soap opera that prioritizes drama over realism, which makes for a more entertaining product. Landman Season 2 will air its season finale on January 18, 2026.

Tulsa King
Between his size, style, and accent, Sylvester Stallone, playing an Italian tough guy, feels right. No, I’m not talking about the Italian Stallion in Rocky, but Dwight Manfredi in Tulsa King. After serving 25 years in prison for murder, the newly released Dwight heads back to New York to work for the mafia, only to realize they don’t need him anymore.
The mafia sends Dwight to — you guessed it — Tulsa, where he sets up his criminal operation in hopes of building it into an empire. Tulsa King is trying to be The Sopranos in Oklahoma. Nothing will ever be The Sopranos. However, Tulsa King is surprisingly funnier than it should be, and Stallone remains the charming and magnetic presence that Hollywood has loved since 1976.

1883
Without Yellowstone, Sheridan never gets to sit on his throne at Paramount. Instead of going into the future, Sheridan went back into the past for 1883, his first Yellowstone spin-off. This prequel follows a new generation of Duttons — James (Tim McGraw), Margaret (Faith Hill), and Elsa (Isabel May) — and their wagon-train journey from the Deep South to Montana.
1883 is Sheridan’s grittiest drama. Frankly, it isn’t close. Sheridan does not romanticize expansion. Instead, he depicts the journey west as brutal, violent, and chaotic. Backed by stellar performances and an emotional message, 1883 is an exceptional Western.

1923
The Dutton family is everlasting. When one generation dies, the next one arises. 1883 established the Dutton roots in Montana. In 1923, the Duttons must fight to keep what’s theirs during Prohibition and the Great Depression. The cast features Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton and Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton, the owners of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.
The opening moments of the show — Cara hunting and shooting a man — set the tone for the intense violence that will soon follow. 1923 is Sheridan’s most star-studded show, but it’s the supporting performances — especially from Brandon Sklenar and Aminah Nieves — that steal the show.

Lioness
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Avatar, Zoe Saldaña is one of our finest action heroines. Add Lioness to her growing resume. Saldaña plays Joe, a CIA operative who oversees the Lioness program, which relies on female undercover operatives in the field.
Season 1 focuses on Joe’s recruitment of Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira) to become a Lioness and help stop a potential terrorist attack. Lioness is no Western soap that most Sheridan fans have become accustomed to watching. Lioness is the one show that feels the most like the thrilling trio of Sheridan’s action movies — Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves
The only show on this list that Sheridan didn’t create is Lawmen: Bass Reeves. Chad Feehan is the creator, while Sheridan serves as an executive producer on the show, based on books in The Bass Reeves Trilogy by Sidney Thompson. David Oyelowo is the titular Bass Reeves, the federal peace officer who became the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River.
Lawmen: Bass Reeves still has the trademark Sheridan style in terms of visuals — it feels cinematic. However, the series is void of the Western soap tropes that make Sheridan’s Westerns so popular. Instead, Lawmen: Bass Reeves explores the human spirit and how one man questions his morality in an immoral system.
