Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 isn’t the only unreleased device that has had details leak about its battery, as a new report mentions battery details about two more Samsung devices, specifically the Galaxy Watch 9, and the company’s rumored Galaxy Glasses. A pair of smart glasses from Samsung has been rumored for years. More recently, details surfaced in early January about the possibility of Samsung working on two distinct pairs of this hardware.
A report from March 9 also mentions that Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses would use AI to see for the user. This new information about the battery suggests that Samsung will put a 245mAh battery inside the glasses, and that they will have a sunglasses variant. The report also mentions the part number for this hardware, listing it as EB-BO200CAY.
Leak claims the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 could come with a 435mAh battery
In addition to battery details about the Galaxy Glasses, the Galaxy Watch 9 is also mentioned. Details suggest it will have part number EB-BL355BAY, and come with a 435mAh battery inside. An important detail to note, as pointed out by SamMobile, is that 435mAh is potentially the rated capacity. If that’s the case, then Samsung could market the watch with a slightly higher capacity, putting it above the Galaxy Watch 8.
And if it has a larger battery than the Galaxy Watch 8, then it could also offer improved battery life. Samsung has been consistently improving battery life on its Galaxy Watch lineup since the launch of the Galaxy Watch 4. And as far as Wear OS watches go, Samsung’s are usually ahead of other brands, even Google’s Pixel Watch 4 which lasted for a good amount.
A bigger battery doesn’t necessarily mean better battery life. However, it depends on other factors as well. Like whether or not Samsung choose to upgrade the chipset or implements features that drain the battery more.
