The OnePlus Watch 4 specs have reportedly leaked, and the details suggest that there could be a slightly disappointing development in the hardware’s release. It’s worth noting that the specs haven’t been confirmed and they’re still just a rumor. However, if accurate, they raise a few questions.
The OnePlus Watch 4 should be launching sometime this year as the previous model, the OnePlus Watch 3, launched early last year, followed by a smaller version in the Summer. Both devices were fairly popular. The OnePlus Watch 4 could easily follow in those footsteps. But will it? The leaked specs suggest a potentially middle of the road offering. At least when compared to other devices might offer. Then again, there aren’t really any other new smartwatch offerings from competitors yet. It will be a while before Google and Samsung launch their latest smartwatches. Both of which should come closer to the end of the Summer or beginning of the Fall.
The OnePlus Watch 4 leaked specs suggest an old chipset and old software
According to the leaked specs, which come from a user named Sudhanshu Ambhore on X, the OnePlus Watch 4 will come with the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset inside. This is the same chipset that was used last year, which means OnePlus’s new watch could come with old hardware. What’s more is that Ambhore claims the watch will come running Wear OS 5. This is as opposed to Wear OS 6, which was released in the second half of 2025.
There is a small silver lining here, though. In addition to the specs, certification documents for the watch have surfaced online as well. While there aren’t really any specs details on those, they do mention the Wear OS version, and it’s reportedly Wear OS 6 that’s listed. Not Wear OS 5. That could suggest that the watch comes with Wear OS 5 out of the box but will get an update to Wear OS 6 fairly quickly. Or it could mean that Wear OS 5 was used in testing, but Wear OS 6 will be the out-of-box experience.
In addition to the chipset and the Wear OS version, Ambhore also mentions a few other specs. The OnePlus Watch 4 is claimed to have a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466. It’s also said to be IP69-rated and come with a battery capacity of 646mAh, while being available in a 47mm size.
