We’re several days into Amazon’s Big Spring Sale (March 25-31), but there’s one wireless earbuds deal that I nearly missed. The new Sony XF-1000XM6 just scored their first-ever discount as part of the sale, and I’m honestly a bit shocked that the earbuds haven’t sold out yet.
For a limited time, you can get $30 off the wireless buds at Amazon, knocking the price down $298. It’s not a huge discount, but considering how new the Sony WF-1000XM6 are, I’m not complaining. It’s also likely the only major price drop that we can expect to see on the buds until the official Prime Day sale goes live in July, so if you’ve been waiting for the right time to purchase a pair, this might be it.
The Sony WF-1000XM6 earned the top spot in our list of the best wireless earbuds that money can buy today, and it isn’t hard to see why. The premium buds come with powerful active noise cancellation (ANC) performance and app support, plus you get audiophile-friendly features like 360 Reality Audio and highly-customizable EQ settings.
The included charging case also provides up to 24 hours of battery life, and there’s also Qi2 wireless charging support for when you do need to add more juice. Needless to say, we tested the XM6 right alongside the XM5 to see how Sony improved their flagship buds, and the upgrades here are no joke. The XM6 have been completely redesigned all the way down to their audio drivers and the incorporation of the new Integrated Processor V2.
The only real problem I found with the Sony WF-1000XM6 is their price. At $329 retail, the earbuds are going to be a tough sell for some folks. Still, if you want the best noise-cancelling earbuds on the market, the XM6 are going to be the ones to beat, and thanks to this discount during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, the premium earbuds just became a slightly easier pill to swallow.
