A week after users began experiencing an issue with the Tidal app in Android Auto, the company has announced that a fix for a very specific bug is incoming.
According to some users via Google’s official Android Auto community forum, an issue appeared with the Tidal app in vehicles in late January. That bug report indicates users were unable to play audio via the app, even after ruling out basic device issues and troubleshooting. Some commented that the audio plays and then stops.
Others say playing audio in offline mode worked for them, but that’s obviously not a permanent solution.
After a week without a fix for the frustrating bug, Tidal announced that an official update is available for the Android Auto app. One user on Reddit posted a support ticket where the agent notes a new update aims to fix that issue. That update is reportedly available for some in the Play Store, though the official release mentions the rollout may run its course over the “coming weeks.”
The update bumps the app version up to 2.177.1, and some online say they have it, while others are still waiting.
Tidal says it “believes” the update resolves the issue, but the rollout is a good response nonetheless.
