The mobile industry is currently looking forward to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup. But the brand is already quietly getting ready for its next wave of high-end devices, which will come out later this year. Recent sightings in the GSMA database have provided an early look at what we can expect from their tablet and wearable lineups in late 2026, and it seems some strategic shifts are on the horizon. The leak confirms the existence of the Galaxy Tab S12 series, the Galaxy Watch 9, and a true successor to Samsung’s most rugged wearable, tentatively named the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 confirmed in new database leak
If you feel like Samsung’s tablet naming convention changes every year, you aren’t imagining it. The new records suggest yet another shift in the company’s approach to the Galaxy Tab S12 series. Last year, the Tab S11 lineup focused on a base model and an Ultra variant, skipping the “Plus” middle ground.
For 2026, the database shows the model numbers SM-X846 and SM-X946, which correspond to a Galaxy Tab S12+ and a Tab S12 Ultra (spotted by Smartprix). Notably missing is any mention of a standard, smaller Tab S12. This suggests that Samsung might be moving back to a strategy that prioritizes larger screens and higher performance tiers, leaving the entry-level premium slot empty for now. This “Plus and Ultra” duo aims to give users the choice between a large, high-performance tablet and the massive, “powerhouse” experience of the Ultra.
Samsung also working on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, Watch 9
On the wrist, the news is equally significant. Samsung appears to be working on two distinct wearable paths. As per the leak, the Galaxy Watch 9 (SM-L345) may continue the legacy of the standard series. It will focus on refined health tracking and better battery life for the everyday user.
But the real deal for fans is the model number SM-L716, which points to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. A new model number means a bigger hardware upgrade than the small updates we’ve seen lately. We can probably expect materials that last even longer, GPS that works better, and special features made just for extreme sports and outdoor adventures.
Based on background, these devices usually hit the market about six to seven months after appearing in these databases. This puts a potential launch window around August or September 2026. It is likely that they will arrive alongside a new generation of foldable phones.
Before we get there, Samsung still has plenty on its plate with its early-year flagships. But for those who prefer the productivity of a large tablet or the ruggedness of a high-end smartwatch, the second half of 2026 is already looking like a busy season for the Galaxy ecosystem.
