It’s been almost a month since Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 15 series in global markets. Today, two new wearable audio products have hit international markets. The products in question are the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses and the Redmi Buds 8 Lite earbuds. In the announcement post, Xiaomi has detailed everything about these products, so keep reading.
Xiaomi’s Mijia Smart Audio Glasses reach international markets
Speaking of the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses, it blends style with open-ear audio. The smart audio glasses house built-in speakers and four microphones. Both combined ensure that they allow you to enjoy audio while staying aware of your surroundings. Xiaomi claims that the new glasses come with wind noise reduction support of up to 4.5m/s, hinting that they’re suitable for outdoor usage. The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses also come with a dedicated privacy mode that uses a “customized algorithm” to “reduce audio leakage” for “more discreet meetings or calls.”
You can choose these glasses in three frame styles: Titanium, Browline, and Pilot-Style. Xiaomi says that all variants support prescription lenses. Let’s not forget that the Titanium and Browline models include blue light protection lenses. Meanwhile, the Pilot-Style model features UV400 sunglasses that block up to 99.99 percent of ultraviolet light. Among all, the lightest is the Titanium model, which features a frame that weighs a mere 27.65 grams. Notably, the Browline and Pilot-Style models feature a quick-release mechanism for easy lens placement.
Xiaomi also hasn’t compromised in the durability department either. The Mijia Smart Audio Glasses feature reinforced piano-wire hinges rated for up to 15,000 flexes. They also come with an IP54 dust and splash resistance certification. As far as power is concerned, the new glasses feature dual 114mAh steel-cased batteries that are placed near the temple ends to reduce ear pressure and improve comfort. Fast charging delivers up to four hours of playback from a 10-minute top-up, while a full charge offers up to 13 hours of use. Worth noting is that you can control gestures, use voice assistants, track the device, and more using the Xiaomi Glasses app.
Redmi Buds 8 Lite goes global with 36 hours of battery life and AI noise cancellation
Besides the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses, Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi Buds 8 Lite globally. The earbuds feature a 12.4mm titanium-diaphragm driver and support Bluetooth 5.4 with AAC and SBC codecs. They offer up to 42dB hybrid active noise cancellation, along with Transparency mode for situational awareness.
The Buds 8 Lite also include dual-mic AI noise cancellation that improves call and audio clarity, even in windy conditions. Xiaomi is also offering dual-device connectivity support, fast charging, and up to 36 hours of total battery life with the case. Redmi Buds 8 Lite start at €22.9, while Mijia Smart Audio Glasses are priced from €179, depending on the frame style.
