Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 and Sony WF-1000XM6 are easy recommendations, but they aren’t the best earbuds for everyone. I’ve been a fan of the Status Audio Pro X since they launched late last year, and right now, thanks to Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, you can grab them for $50 off their original price.
This means you can pick up one of the best-sounding earbuds on the market right now for just $249, which is about a 17% discount. Sure, even at this price, they are still quite expensive and nearly $80 more than the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which are down to $169. But if sound quality is your top priority, you really should not overlook the Status Audio Pro X.
✅Recommended if: you want comfortable earbuds with great sound quality and a fatigue-free experience; you like granular control over your listening experience and enjoy tweaking EQ; you prefer physical buttons for controlling actions.
❌Skip this deal if: you want deep ecosystem features and you prioritize long battery life, since, despite the 8-hour claim, they typically last around 5 to 6 hours on a single charge.
Having used the Status Audio Pro X as my main pair of earbuds for the past month, I can confidently say these are among the most comfortable earbuds I’ve used. They fit snugly in my ears, and despite looking slightly bulky compared to others, they stay in place for long sessions without causing fatigue.
Another feature I really like is the physical button on top of each earbud. You can map it to actions like switching between ANC modes or triggering your phone’s assistant. Combined with gesture controls, this makes for one of the most complete and intuitive control systems I have used on earbuds.

But what really sets these apart for me is the sound quality. These earbuds use a 12mm dynamic driver, which is common in flagship models, but they also include two balanced armature drivers that elevate the overall soundstage. On top of that, the companion app lets you fine-tune the EQ to a level of control you rarely see on most earbuds.
That said, not everything is perfect. I found the battery life a bit disappointing. The company claims up to 8 hours on a single charge, but in my usage, they lasted around 5 to 6 hours with ANC enabled. And this could be an issue for those planning to grab these for long-haul travel.
That said, these earbuds get most things right, and at this price, if you want something outside the Apple, Sony, or Samsung ecosystem, these are an easy recommendation.
