Early life and background

Aditi Arya was born on 18 September 1993 in Chandigarh, India, and grew up in a middle-class family there. She attended Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh and later studied at Amity International School in Gurgaon. For her undergraduate education she completed a Bachelor of Business Studies at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University. Arya went on to pursue further management education, having studied at the Indian School of Business and later completing an MBA at the Yale School of Management between 2021 and 2023.

During her school and college years she took part in co-curricular activities and joined a theatre group, performing in street plays. Early in her professional life she worked as an advisory member at Empezar in Delhi and then as a research analyst at Ernst & Young. Through Ernst & Young’s Young Leaders Programme she enrolled at the Indian School of Business.

Career

Aditi Arya first rose to national attention through pageantry. In 2015 she finished as runner-up in Femina Miss India Delhi and later won the fbb Femina Miss India World title on 28 March 2015. She represented India at Miss World 2015, where she won special awards including Miss Beautiful Hair and Miss Sudoku.

Following her pageant success she moved into modelling and acting. She has been featured in print campaigns for brands such as Miss Diva Fragrance, Flying Machine and Hazoorilal Jewellers, and appeared in television commercials including a campaign with Aamir Khan and an ad for Head & Shoulders with Ranveer Singh.

Her acting debut came in the Telugu film Ism (2016), in which she played the role of Alia Khan. She then expanded into digital and regional cinema: she appeared as Sunaina in the Voot series Tantra (2017), played Jyotika in the web series Spotlight 2 (2018), and had a supporting role in the Telugu film Seven (2019), which was also released in Tamil. In 2020 she appeared as Riddhi in the ZEE5 film Unlock. In 2021 she featured in Voot’s Sumer Singh Case Files: Girlfriends as Ananya and was cast as Inderjit Amarnath, the wife of former cricketer Mohinder Amarnath, in the Hindi biographical sports film 83.

Beyond screen roles, Arya has appeared in music videos, including the 2017 song “Tum Hardafa Ho” by Ankit Tiwari, and has served as a youth icon for Videocon’s national talent hunt Young Manch after her Miss India World win.
