Aryaman Birla (Cricketer) Biography

Aryaman Vikram Birla is an Indian left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who has represented Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. Born in 199

Early life and background

Aryaman Vikram Birla was born on 9 July 1997 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family based in Mumbai, he moved away from the city to pursue cricket, relocating to Rewa in Madhya Pradesh to focus on his game. He completed a graduation in commerce.

Aryaman developed an interest in cricket at a young age, beginning formal play around nine years old. Although he grew up with access to a comfortable lifestyle, accounts from his early playing days note that he adopted a more spartan routine while training and touring, including travel and accommodation choices that reflected a desire to concentrate on cricket rather than creature comforts.

Career

A left-handed batsman who bowls slow left-arm orthodox, Aryaman has been part of the Madhya Pradesh domestic setup. His performances at the under-23 level brought him attention: in the C.K. Nayudu Trophy he accumulated 795 runs across six matches at an average of 79.50. In U-23 fixtures for Madhya Pradesh he produced several standout innings, including scores of 153 against Odisha and 137 and 43 against Uttar Pradesh, earning Man of the Match honours in those contests.

A defining moment in his early career came in a match between Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh at Sagar, when he recorded both a double-century and a 10-wicket match haul in the U-23 competition. That performance helped pave the way for IPL interest, and he was subsequently picked up by the Rajasthan Royals for the 2018 Indian Premier League season.

On the first-class front, Aryaman made a solitary appearance for Madhya Pradesh in a match against Odisha played at Indore on 25 November 2017.

Coaching and mentorship

During his development he worked under coach Pravin Amre, a name associated with mentoring in the domestic circuit.

Public profile

Aryaman is the son of Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, and Neerja Birla. He has two sisters, Ananya Birla and Advaitesha Birla. He is unmarried.

Physically, Aryaman is listed at about 1.75 metres (5 feet 9 inches) tall and approximately 65 kilograms (143 pounds). He has black hair and black eyes. Reported body measurements include a chest of 40 inches, a waist of 32 inches, and biceps of 14 inches. He has tattoos on his left arm and left wrist; the wrist tattoo is described as an anchor with text.

Although he has not made an international debut, his domestic achievements and a high-scoring run in age-group competitions mark him as a player who made rapid strides through youth and state cricket.

Latest updates

In the 2018 IPL auction cycle Aryaman was signed by the Rajasthan Royals, with his 2018 IPL salary reported as ₹30 lakh. As of 2024 he is 27 years old and remains identified with Madhya Pradesh cricket.
