Iqbal Singh Chahal was born on 20 January 1966 in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. He completed schooling at institutions that include St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School in Pathankot and Kendriya Vidyalaya branches in Jodhpur. He went on to earn a B.Tech (honours) in Electronics and Communication from the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.
