Kulbir Nain, who performs under the name KD and sometimes uses his village name Kulbir Danoda, was born on 15 September 1990 in Danoda Kalan near Narwana, Haryana. He grew up in an agricultural family and showed an early interest in performing. While at school and later in college hostels, he frequently took part in stage events and informal gatherings, developing his singing and rapping skills through live performance.

KD attended Government Polytechnic College in Manesar, Haryana, where he began studying engineering but did not complete the program. During this period he would often perform at functions around the hostel and in nearby towns, expanding his experience in public singing and rap. He studied music under Satish Sehgal at Kokila Studio in Rohtak, which helped him transition from singing traditional raginis to composing and performing rap.

Career
KD made his recorded debut in 2011, releasing the single "Paiya Pittal" and the album Desi Villagers that same year. Early in his career he collaborated with a co-singer known as MD, writing and performing several songs alongside him. Over time he established himself in the Haryanvi music scene as a singer, rapper and music director.
