Paradox (Rapper) Biography

Paradox is an Indian rapper, songwriter and music producer from Delhi who rose to prominence after finishing as first runner-up on MTV Hustle 2.0 in 2022.

Early life and background
Tanishq Singh, known by his stage name Paradox, was born on 24 October 2003 in Najafgarh, Delhi. He grew up in Delhi and attended Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector 5 in Dwarka before moving on to higher studies through IGNOU. While still in school he showed an early interest in performing arts, taking part in singing and dance competitions and even auditioning for Dance India Dance Li’l Masters.

Paradox developed an interest in writing at a young age after encouragement from a Hindi teacher, and he penned his first rap in class 9 for a classmate from tuition. Alongside his creative pursuits, he was also active in sports: he played table tennis at the national level from class 6 through class 10, but stepped back from competitive play to focus on academics at his parents’ request.

Career
Paradox’s musical journey began in his teens when he discovered hip-hop at 14. He entered local rap challenges and was noticed after placing among the top contestants in a competition organized by Rohan Cariappa. That exposure led to collaborations with artists across India and Nepal and helped him build a presence in the underground hip-hop scene.

He adopted the stage name Paradox after being inspired by a music video that referenced a book titled “Insolvable Paradox.” He launched a self-titled YouTube channel in 2020 to release music videos and original tracks. Several of his songs gained attention online; singles released on his channel in 2023 include “Perfy,” “Hasti Rahe Tu,” and “Sirhaana.” The channel has attracted a substantial subscriber base.

Paradox’s profile rose significantly in 2022 when he appeared on MTV Hustle 2.0. Competing on the show as a member of rapper King’s team, he reached the finale and finished as the first runner-up. During the competition he performed tracks such as “Rihaayi,” “Jaadugar,” “Chhore NCR Aale,” and “Glitch,” which helped broaden his audience. While on the show he also received recognition from established artist Badshah, who gifted him a jacket that Paradox wore during his first live performance.

Beyond the show, Paradox has appeared in a television commercial for MTV India’s FIFA World Cup ’22 and has performed at stage shows and concerts. His work credits list roles as rapper, lyricist and music composer.
