Early life and backgroundMuralikrishna Prasidh Krishna was born on 19 February 1996 in Bangalore, Karnataka. Raised in Bengaluru, he attended Carmel School in Padmanabhanagar and later studied at Mahaveer Jain College, where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Sports ran in his family: his mother was a national-level volleyball player and his father played cricket at the college level. As a youngster he enjoyed many sports, including athletics, football and badminton, and often practised bowling actions on the walk to school.
Career
Prasidh emerged through Karnataka’s domestic system and made his first-class debut for the state in the 2015–16 season. He spent time at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai and was later coached by figures such as Glenn McGrath and Jeff Thomson, experiences he credits with helping him find greater calm and control in his game.
A right-arm fast bowler who bats right-handed, Prasidh has played for Karnataka in domestic cricket and for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He has also been part of the Bellary Tuskers earlier in his domestic career. Known for his pace and aggression with the new ball, he recorded notable domestic success, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Internationally, Prasidh made an immediate impact when he debuted in One Day Internationals for India against England on 23 March 2021 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
