Rohanpreet Singh was born on 1 December 1994 in Patiala, Punjab. He grew up in Patiala and attended Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School. Encouraged by his father, he began practicing singing from a very young age and received formal training in Hindustani classical music under professor Gurmukh Singh Sehgal.

Career

Rohanpreet’s first national exposure came as a child contestant on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs in 2007, where he finished as the first runner-up. After that early breakthrough he performed extensively, taking part in live shows and concerts across India and internationally, including appearances in South America, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and London.

He continued to compete on television, returning to reality TV in 2018 with the second season of Rising Star on Colors TV, where he was again declared the first runner-up.
