Roopa Koduvayur was born on 27 December 2000 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Raised in a family with an army parent, she is the only daughter and spent her formative years in Vijayawada, where she attended Amali English Medium High School. Roopa later studied medicine at Katuri Medical College in Guntur and holds an MBBS degree.

From a very young age she trained in classical dance, studying both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Her disciplined training began in childhood and she has said she practiced for hours each day. That early commitment brought public recognition: at seven she won first prize in a dance competition and was presented an award by musician and vocalist Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna.

She made her feature film debut in the Telugu movie Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya (2020), playing the character Jyothi.
